Did You Know?
Royal Ride
Did you know that the Iconic Royal Ride golf cars were built on Club Car chassis? Elmo Miener was the founder of Royal Ride (hence the name “Elmco”) and his factory was in Cooksville, IL. Emmett Golfcars was the proud dealer of all Royal Ride products starting 1989 and became #1 in America for many years! Royal Ride sadly went out of business; but these wonderful golf cars are still sought after and have stood the test of time. One of our favorites is the Model 11E with bucket seats and woodgrain dash units. They incorporated real automotive glass in their windshields and sun roofs. Their headlights were also automobile parts still sold at places like NAPA. In the 1990’s Tom Emmett consulted with Elmco on the style and development of the “Cadillac Carts” by Elcmo, which were officially licensed by Cadillac to use their basic design and badging. Legendary golf pro Lee Trevino was their official celebrity endorser. These Cadillac carts are rare and hard to find in good condition.
Columbia Par Car
In 1988, Emmett Golfcars became the dealer for Columbia Par Car in the Coachella Valley? This company was the successor to AMF/Harley Davidson golf carts. At that time; the ParCar P4E model had a true independent suspension system that also had a hinged chassis. The P4E could literally climb up curbs and obstacles one wheel at a time. We used this capability by driving the carts up and over curbs in our sales demonstrations. Truly a tough and versatile golf cart!
Daihatsu
Emmett Golfcars became a dealer for Daihatsu in the 1990’s. Eventually landing in the top ten dealers in the Nation! Daihatsu has made some of the highest-quality industrial, turf and commercial vehicles in the world.
Tom Emmett was on the original California State Golf Cart Legalization committee. He and fellow pioneers in this first-ever State project opened the doors to what has become a way of life in many areas—small electric vehicles in daily public life.
